CARE OF PRODUCT
Stylist Line® products are known as the highest quality for fine outdoor and leisure furniture industry market segment. Of course this is because our consistency to maintain our top grade of material and consistent quality we deliver to you. Teakwood does not need additional protective measures. It requires little care and will maintain its strength and attractiveness for decades. Untreated wood, exposed to water, snow and UV rays, will oxidize and take on a silver-grey sheen. During long-term exposure to weather influences it’s possible that the wood shows a tarnish of dirt and algal. Remove this with water, possibly in combination with non-aggressive soap and a brush.
Use Stylist Line® Teak Cleaner for persistent dirt, but must follow carefully the instructions of the manufacturer of this product.
Due to weather conditions, the surface of the wood will become drier. This might then cause the surface pores open and feel a little rough. Just smoothen it by brushing the wood with a hard, hairy brush. First, gently sand down the wood with sanding paper. In the course of time, small cracks might appear in the wood, especially at the ends of the slats. This is a common occurrence in a natural product and absolutely normal. It does not influence the durability or strength of the Stylist-Line product. Do not use a high-pressure sprayer.
It is depend on personal taste whether or not an individual wishes to allow the teak to a silvery-grey color, or would rather maintain the original golden brown color of the wood. If you wish to retain the natural color, so when the Stylist Line® product is outside all the year around, it must be considered that the treatment has to be repeated 2 or 3 times a year with Stylist Line® Care of Wood as teak sealer or teak oil, depending on the maintenance product used. Apply with the brush, let it dry thoroughly, and then remove the excess oil with clean cloth. Make sure that before applying the teak sealer or teak oil the wood is dry through.
